Serving & Protecting Voiceover Artists in the Klang Valley

MISSION

The Voice Guild of Kuala Lumpur & Selangor maintains the industry standards for commercial voiceover rates and working conditions for Malaysian artists.  The association aims to protect the interests of Malaysian voiceover talents and advocates to uphold the Made-in-Malaysia (MIM) ruling for television commercials.  The Guild also supports continuing education for the advancement of the voiceover industry.

ORGANISATION & MEMBERSHIP

The Voice Guild was set up in 2000 as a not-for-profit trade association based in Kuala Lumpur.  Your membership with us tells your clients that you meet or exceed established standards for vocal delivery (performance and technique) and that you conduct business in a manner that enhances the voiceover community as a whole.

The Guild serves to provide legal and professional representation to voiceover artists so our primary concern is for the well-being and welfare of our members, not to create competition amongst them!  We do not and cannot provide services offered by recording studios, casting directors or advertising agencies.  Subsequently, there is no promise of employment nor any guarantee of work during your membership period.

At this time, the Guild's membership is restricted to Malaysian citizens only.  As advocates of the MIM ruling, the association continues to focus on lobbying for all broadcast commercials within the country to use Malaysian talents.  Although we acknowledge that non-citizen voiceover talents can be hired for other media, the Guild does not have the resources at this time to represent them.  However, as The Voice Guild of Kuala Lumpur & Selangor grows to include more specialist voiceover artists, we expect to expand our membership policies accordingly.
